After over half a decade since its inception, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has been released on the Nintendo Switch. Earlier this year, Bandai Namco confirmed that the much-lauded airborne warfare simulator would be taking flight on Nintendo’s console during the summer season.
The Switch iteration of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown comprises all extant post-launch DLC releases coupled with the fundamental gaming experience. This affords Nintendo players access to all of the game's bountiful content. Beyond focusing on a standalone campaign set in the imaginative geography of Strangereal, the action follows Trigger, a fighter pilot, and the game also boasts a multiplayer option.
When we initially assessed the game, we gave it a commendable 9 out of 10. In our evaluation, we said, “Ace Combat 7 delivers an enjoyable experience with sufficient content and variety to entertain both novices and veteran flying game enthusiasts."
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown can also be played on other platforms such as PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game gained popularity quickly and has successfully sold over 5 million copies globally. The developers are currently working on a follow-up game.
