Final Fantasy XVI, the popular action role-playing game from Square Enix has received a new update. The 1.03 update, now available to players, brings a host of improvements to the game, including the much-anticipated motion blur setting. This setting enables players to reduce the intensity of the motion blur effect, even allowing them to switch it off entirely.
The full patch notes were shared by the game's publisher on social media. The release of update 1.03 signifies numerous enhancements to the Final Fantasy XVI gaming experience. The update not only rectifies certain bugs but also introduces new functions, thereby enhancing the overall gameplay. It is recommended that this update be installed before embarking on the game.
The update adds certain items to the System tab of the Main Menu. This includes the Motion Blur Strength, which controls the intensity of the motion blur effect when the character or camera moves. The default setting is the maximum value of 5, but it can be adjusted downwards to reduce the effect or set to 0 to disable it completely. Also, the Player Follow (Movement) and the Player Follow (Attack) settings have been added, which, when turned off, prevents the camera from automatically trailing the player during movements and attacks. The maximum setting of the Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal and Vertical) has been increased from 10 to 20. The update also introduces three new controller layouts: D, E, and F.
Besides these additions, the update rectifies an issue affecting the stability of some menus and resolves some text problems. Furthermore, the update adds the hashtag #FF16, which can be used when sharing screenshots or video clips on Twitter or YouTube. In essence, the 1.03 update aims to enrich the gaming experience of Final Fantasy XVI, addressing player feedback and improving overall gameplay functionality.
Currently, Final Fantasy XVI is exclusively available for PS5, with three million copies sold in the first week since its release. A PC version of the game has been confirmed by Yoshida-san, the game's director; however, Square Enix will require some time to optimize the game for the platform. The release date for the PC version is yet to be announced. Until then, players can enjoy the enhanced gaming experience provided by the 1.03 update.
