Baldur’s Gate 3 – Patch 7 Closed Beta Delayed to Later This Week

The release of the closed beta for Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been postponed until the end of this week. This delay, as stated by Larian Studios, is the result of an unexpected issue with the game's passive rolls, caused by one of the modifications that Patch 7 was intended to apply. The issue is currently being addressed by Larian, and more participants will be invited soon.

Patch 7 will deliver several enhancements and introduce new components such as a dynamic split screen, new cinematic experiences for evil plays and endings. In addition, it will incorporate more Legendary Actions for adversaries in Honour Mode, apply numerous corrections for Origin characters, and even trigger cooperative player chatter in multi-player mode when different players are manipulating their own characters.

Patch 7's most prominent feature is the modding toolkit. It offers players the opportunity to modify and design diverse elements of the game, including equipment, aesthetics and dice skins, along with races, classes and subclasses. The chief purpose of the closed beta is to examine the toolkit and validate its functionality. Larian, however, has assured that this setback will not impact the planned release of the patch in September.

Currently, Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
